Pastor Lance’s recent comment over the Memorial Day weekend about people watching worship on livestream from their lake house was certainly an accurate chuckle, but it is a reality that most likely will continue through the summer.
At the First Street Mission, our prayer is that we run ourselves out of business. For decades, hundreds of volunteers have worked tirelessly to provide for the basic needs of neighbors who are experiencing poverty and homelessness.
When there is a culture of gratitude that celebrates and appreciates acts of kindness, generosity grows.
The K-5th grade Mission classes did a great job decorating terra-cotta pots and planting small plants! Please stop by the 2nd floor this Sunday, May 7, to purchase a plant for Mother’s Day!

I have the privilege of walking alongside people through their lives and seeing their faith in action.
We have been living in our house since 2014. Whenever I catch myself thinking about our place, it’s usually focused on what it is lacking.
Over the next weeks as we wind our way through Lent and Holy Week towards Easter morning, let’s hold the Spirit-sustaining Fruit of Joy in our hearts and thank God for the risen Christ.
