Good Friday Family Service

“Anything mentionable is manageable.” – these are the great and challenging words of my hero Mister Rogers.

This Friday is our Good Friday service for children and families. This is the hardest day of the church year – the day we remember that Jesus died on the cross.
Here’s how we will handle that –

When a loved one dies, it’s common to hold a special service called a funeral or memorial service. Friends and family come together to pray, sing songs, read scripture…and tell stories. These stories aren’t about how the person died, but how they lived – how they touched the lives of others.

At our service, each child will receive a Story Cross. We will explore stories of Jesus forgiving others, caring for the needs of others, blessing others, and trusting in God, and how he lived this out…even on the cross.

Here is the schedule:
Friday, April 7:
5:30-6:15 – Free meal in Wesley Hall (Campisi’s)
6:15-7:00 – Good Friday Family Service in the chapel.

Please feel free to invite friends and neighbors. Not many churches are willing to hold a Good Friday service with children and families in mind.

Blessings,

Mister Mark

BTW – Some have asked about Maundy Thursday. We’re having a churchwide potluck in Wesley Hall from 5:30-6:30 pm, followed by a short Communion service.
I will be there and would love to see you!
