FUMCFW Finances

The finances of FUMC Fort Worth are based on the principle of “stewardship,” that is, the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one’s care. An important aspect of proper stewardship is transparency and accountability. Below are finance reports and audited financial statements that help you understand how the gifts entrusted to FUMC Fort Worth are stewarded in support of our mission to Love God, Serve People, and Transform Lives.

Finance Reports

FUMC Fort Worth has a Finance Committee consisting of involved church members who meet monthly to oversee the inflow and outflow of monies for the church’s operating budget. Members serve on a rotating 3-year term. Oversight from the laity of the church is an important United Methodist tenant of governance that FUMC Fort Worth enthusiastically supports.

It is the Finance Committee’s goal to provide you with clear, transparent information on how church finances work, what our goals as a church are, and how we plan on reaching those goals each and every year. Data detailing money inflow and outflow as well as whose responsibility it is to steward the money can be found in the following reports.

Reports are based on the prior year audited financial statements and ministry statistics. For example, the 2023 Financial Report is based on 2022 financials and ministries.

Audited Financial Statements

FUMC Fort Worth employs an independent accounting firm to annually audit the financial statements of the church. While this is not a denominational requirement, our lay leadership and executive staff feel it is an important component of transparent and effective stewardship of the gifts provided to the church. Below are the audited statements from the past few years. Note that most audits take place in the summer following the close of a year. Thus, audited reports for the prior year are typically posted around the third quarter.
