Your First Quarter 2022 Contribution Statement Is in the Mail

On behalf of the pastors and staff of FUMCFW, I say THANK YOU for investing in our life-changing ministries and programs. Your generosity makes it possible to continue the 170-year-old tradition of a downtown church which is viewed as a welcoming worship community that provides nurturing ministry, soulful music, like-minded fellowship and compassionate outreach. Thanks to you, First Church is strategically poised to reach out and engage with faithful members as well as new families, individuals and community ensuring a strong future for generations to come.

Your continued giving in support of our annual $5.5 million Ministry and Operating Budget serves as a declaration that you are invested in our Christ-centered mission of making disciples for Christ! You showed up on a recent Sunday physically demonstrating your endorsement!

I personally think every Sunday at First Church is fun, but Sunday, April 3rd was over-the-top FUN! I hope you were able to attend the very special 9:30 Gathering service which took place on the east parking lot with the Edward and Maxine Baker Children’s Wing as the backdrop. This was my first time attending a consecration and I doubt this memorable event can be outdone – maybe duplicated – but not outdone because of timpani, trumpets, KAZOOS, and children.

The beautiful Baker Children’s Wing along with the renovation of Wesley Hall and upgrades in the HVAC system and other infrastructure components are part of the Next90 Phase I construction which began in December 2020. Phase I will be fully completed by early summer.

The unique symphonic presentation was done in honor of you – our First Church members – who through your generous investments made the Next90 Phase I happen successfully. Thank you! Close to 400 households made financial commitments totaling $5.3 million. Many of those commitments have been fulfilled and in anticipation of the majority remaining commitments being paid in full, First Church will complete this transformative project debt-free thanks to two major gifts, the generosity of the Board of Trustees, and you, our members. Although the formal capital campaign concluded on March 31st, we are asking that if you are financially positioned to fulfill your commitment over the next several months to please do so.

Your first quarter 2022 Contribution Statement should arrive this week. The statement will show any unpaid balances as well as all contributions made to FUMCFW since January 1. Should you have any questions about the information or need to make an adjustment, please reach out to me or contact the Business Office at contributions@myfumc.org.

Again, we are truly grateful that you are making the choice to invest in the lives of fellow disciples through the gifts of your time, talents and treasure!

Together thru Christ,

Nancy Fisher
