At this point in Advent, I like to imagine that Joseph and his very-pregnant wife Mary have set off on foot to Bethlehem, where they will be looking for “room in the inn.”
Okay, Math was never my strongest subject. But we’re having some things that just aren’t quite adding up. Summer JAM is completely full. We’ve got a wait-list of kids that’s in the double digits. And yet . . .
Summer is right around the corner. And we need help. As most of you know, we don’t “shut it down” in the summer. We’re a 52-weeks-a-year ministry. We’re looking for volunteers in three main areas (aside from VBS, which is always a HUGE need).
Our Texas and Beyond Mission Teams Council continues to provide our congregation with many meaningful and effective service opportunities. You can sign up right now the local Cowtown Brush Up on Saturday, April 7, to help bless families in need in our community.
The holidays officially kicked off in Downtown Fort Worth with the 35th annual XTO Energy Parade of Lights and FUMCFW was part of the festivities!
As our Early Response Team, led by Rev. Chuck Graff and Rev. Phyllis Barren prepare to head toward the Texas Coast to serve Thursday – Sunday, September 7 – 10, we want to gather our First Church community behind them in thought and prayer.
