Dear Faithful Friend,

I thank my God every time I remember you. Philippians 1:3

When I count my blessings, I count YOU! Which means I also count FUMCFW among those blessings.

There is no better way for me to start my week than standing on Fifth Street on Sunday morning.

• I love seeing our youngsters coming in full speed, brimming with energy, and decked out in their Sunday wear with their parents in tow.
• I love greeting first-time visitors who are here for a baby’s baptism or a 6th Grade Confirmation or Senior Recognition Sunday.
• I love hugging friends that I have come to know over 30 years through various ministries, Sunday School, Bible studies and mission trips.
• I love being greeted and hugged by my newer friends who I have met in the last 6½ years since coming on staff!
• I love settling into my spot in the sanctuary knowing that I will walk out inspired by Pastor Lance’s message and the accompanying gift of music.
• I love thinking about Mister Mark bringing the enthusiastic children’s lesson so that our children, as he once said so beautifully, “live into God’s dream while falling in love with God in the way that God is in love with them.”
• I love being a part of a downtown church that has a variety of vibrant ways of connecting and ministering.

I am grateful for you and your way of honoring our loving God through your generous support of the ministries and operations of First Church. Thank you especially for your faithful giving.

In the spirit of gratitude I am thankful that you choose to worship in and financially support this beautiful downtown church which has been in the same location for 90+ years. I am even more thankful and excited when thinking about the possibilities of leveraging our discipleship so as to transform lives and our community in the name of Jesus Christ. Together at First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, we will make 2023 a year to remember and celebrate!
