Over the forty years of my active ministry, I had several people “answer the call to preach.”
The gospels don’t elaborate on it, but scholars have uncovered the history of conflict between the Samaritans and the Jews.
Jesus’ response in this passage has always seemed a little off kilter to me.
I would like to begin with a little history and context for this scripture.
