Opening Prayer

*Call to Worship
One: The melody of faith is carried from voice to voice.
All: No ending can silence what the Spirit sustains.
One: Every life adds its note to God’s unfolding song.
All: Each generation echoing the last with new beauty.
One: Come, let us honor the song behind us and before us;
All: trusting the music will continue through us all. Amen.

*Hymn 157: “Jesus Shall Reign” vv. 1-3, 5

*Affirmation of Faith 881
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
  maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:
  who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
                born of the Virgin Mary,
                suffered under Pontius Pilate,
                was crucified, dead, and buried;
  the third day he rose from the dead;
  he ascended into heaven,
                and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
                from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
                the holy catholic◦ church, the communion of saints,
                the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,
                and the life everlasting. Amen.

*Gloria Patri 70
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

Claire Manno, Youth Ministries Staff
One: Through the sacrament of baptism you were initiated into Christ’s holy church by the steadfast love and grace of God.
All: We committed to pray for you and to nurture you in your journey of faith through our words and our deeds.
One: Through confirmation, you reaffirmed your faith, renewing the covenant declared at your baptism.
All: We welcomed you into membership and were encouraged by your claiming of this tradition, and community.
One: Through church membership, you have taken seriously the call to be a disciple of Christ and, through the Holy Spirit, have grown in grace, knowledge, and maturity.
All: We encouraged you to question and challenge, we served alongside you, and we were inspired and transformed by your witness.
One: Through this recognition, we send you out, knowing that God goes with you wherever you go.
All: We bless you and pray for you as your faith journey continues beyond this church. Always remember that this is your home and that in trials and triumphs, in mountains and valleys, in whatever the future holds, in this community you will always belong. Amen.

The Great Thanksgiving

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13)

Serving the Bread and Cup

Offertory: “God of Heaven”
Heather Sorrenson, arranger
Choral Union
Thomas Williams, director

*Doxology 95
Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow.
Praise God, all creatures here below;
Praise God above, ye heavenly host.
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

*Benediction
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord make his face shine upon you
and be gracious unto you.
May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you
and give you peace, Amen.

*Congregational Benediction: “Let There Be Peace on Earth”
Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me;
let there be peace on earth, the peace that was meant to be.
With God our creator children all are we,
let us walk with each other in perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me, let this be the moment now.
With every step I take, let this be my solemn vow:
to take each moment and live each moment
in peace eternally.
Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.

*Postlude: “Pomp and Circumstance”
Edward Elgar, composer

Sundays | 11:11 am | Live Stream
Rev. Tom McDermott

We love laughter and no-holds-barred messages that question the answers and unmask the illusions as we search for the next chapter together. This is 55 minutes of authentic storytelling, great coffee, and meaningful conversation — with the music of Brad Thompson (Fort Worth Star Telegram’s “Best Local Musician”) and the Revolution Band doing some of your favorite pop, classic rock, and acoustic songs.

We’re passionately inclusive here at eleven:eleven, whether you identify as LGBTQ+ or straight, conservative or liberal, Christian or agnostic, young or old — or anywhere in between and beyond. We’re casual, “come as you wish,” non–traditional, and always curious about kindness, justice, our stories, Jesus’ life — and how to do our lives better.

Here’s your invitation to reconnect your spirit without disconnecting your mind. We believe in the universal love of God and your next adventure. Join this growing community and become part of our story — and let’s see where it takes us! #1111FUMCFW
