Key Pieces of Faith

Hello friends, and for the first time as your sole Senior Pastor, greetings!

Despite being in my 10th year of ministry here at the First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, this week still feels a new beginning. I can’t tell you how honored I am to serve God and this congregation as Senior Pastor. I think we have a bright future ahead of us!

I want to start our new beginning with a sermon series I’ve titled “Key Pieces of Faith.” I have three goals for this series. First, I’d love to share my faith story and how key pieces of faith fell into place and transformed me from cynical and skeptical to deeply connected to Christ. I hope that in sharing my story and my life you will better understand me as a person, as a Christian, and as your pastor.

Second, I hope to inspire you to reflect on your own faith story. What is the foundation of your connection to Christ? What is it that drives you in your daily life? What connects you to His presence on a regular basis? We can take these things for granted unless we take time to seriously consider how our faith lives in our hearts. This sermon series will guide you in reflection that will bring greater clarity to your own connection to Jesus.

Finally, this series will be an open time of engagement for people who are exploring Christianity. If you or someone you know is just “kicking the tires” on faith, this series is a great entry point. While I don’t expect their story to perfectly match mine, my testimony is one of transformation and grace, and I trust that God will work when that story is shared. Who do you know that needs to hear messages like these? I hope you invite them to join you in worship.

God bless you, and I’ll see you on Sunday!
