First Talks | 9:30 am | Room 310 & Zoom
First Talks is a discussion group formed around weekly TedTalk presentations. A range of opinions and experience make for a great discussion of timely issues.

Kaleidoscope | 9:30 am | Room 312
Open to EVERYONE! This relatively new, exciting class is “come just as you are”. We are married and single with kids and no children, young, gay, straight. We are currently studying Questions of Faith: Modern Thinkers Respond. Several socials are being planned.

Open Door | 9:30 am | Room 320
In response to so many requests for a class that meets at the same time as children are in Sunday School, we are launching the 9:30 Open Door Class. Couples or singles, all are welcome to join with other parents for a time of socializing and discussion of topics that are important to you. In addition, we will have several opportunities for service projects (some with our children joining in) and socials.

Veriditas Class | 9:30 am | Room 332
Veriditas is a lively class centered around book discussions. The group does two or three book studies during the year. Topics include Bible study, theology, and spiritual growth; book titles are chosen by the group collectively. The class also meets via Zoom on Thursday evenings and studies another book chosen by the group.

Wesley Bible Study | 9:30 am | Room 340
All are welcome! This class is a weekly Bible study often led by retired clergy, seminary students, and clergy on staff. Currently studying Genesis with Evve Kuykendall leading. Occasional socials and casual lunch get togethers.

Young and Middle Adults

Aldersgate | 9:30 am | Room 333
We love a good discussion, bringing a variety of life experiences and opinions shared respectfully with one another. Lessons are usually led by class members or speakers from the adult speakers bank. We engage in monthly service opportunities, including Second Sunday at the First Street Methodist Mission and several social gatherings throughout the year.

Genesis | 9:30 am | Room 351
Our class is primarily made up of late 30’s, early 40’s couples and singles, most with elementary aged children or youth. Studies are presented by class members with discussion opportunities and occasional guest speakers. Topics range from biblical studies to issues related to families to social concerns. Several social events throughout the year.

Middle and Older Adults

Good Neighbors/Koinonia | 9:30 am | Room 231
The name Good Neighbors says a lot about who we are: caring for each other, serving others. We would describe ourselves as “an active and lively group who loves to learn, think, and express many different opinions”. The most unique thing about this class is its “Big Personality”! Lessons are presented by speakers from class and the FUMC speakers bank and range from social issues, community concerns, current events, and biblical studies. Many social events and hands-on service opportunities.

Inquirers | 9:30 am | Room 352
We are a very welcoming class! We have weekly presentations by a variety of clergy, staff, and members of the church’s speakers bank ranging in topics from biblical studies to social concerns.  Emphasis on supporting church outreach programs. Several social occasions, including monthly dinners and monthly Ladies Coffee.

Loyalty | 9:30 am | Room 334
Lively, active, and engaging! This class values the friendships formed, and the lessons presented by engaging speakers from both church members and community speakers. We support a number of service agencies, and enjoy gatherings for food and fellowship.
