A unique feature of the United Methodist Church is the active leadership of laypeople—those who aren’t clergy but are deeply involved in the life of the church. At First Church, laity help guide our mission and shape key decisions.

This happens through leadership committees that meet throughout the year. Members serve on a rotating basis, typically for 3–4 years, bringing fresh insight and new energy to the table.

The leadership committees include:

Finance Committee
Board of Trustees
Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC)
Board of Stewards
Committee on Lay Leadership
Lay Members to Annual Conference
Church Council

We aim for diverse leadership across all boards, welcoming people of all ages, from multiple worshipping communities and ministries, and with varying lengths of membership. If you or someone you know would be a great fit, fill out the interest form on our website or contact the church office.
