On September 30, 2021, your Foundation marked its 57th anniversary. First Methodist Church of Fort Worth Foundation, Inc., is a dedicated and permanent source of financial support for FUMC.
Throughout its history, the First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth has benefited from outstanding leadership. Such great leaders are often called pillars. You’ve heard the phrase “Pillars of the Community.”
Recently, I was on vacation. On a warm beach with beautiful water and sparkling sunlight, I enjoyed the true luxury of having a few days off for some leisure, fun, and many delicious meals in a relaxing setting with my family.
In 1964, when a group of selfless leaders gathered to create the First Methodist Church of Fort Worth Foundation, their idea was to design a mechanism that would encourage what is known as planned or Legacy gifts.
When some people say “Sunday School Class,” the immediate impression is a room full of children hearing Bible parables and singing memorable worship songs. At First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, that perception is just a beginning and then expands dramatically!
Many enjoyable aspects of life come along with spring: wildflowers, warmer temperatures, greenery in abundance, deeply religious holidays filled with eggs and bunnies galore, and general merriment that summer is right around the corner.
Every January, Foundation board members participate in an orientation session to introduce new board members to the Foundation’s history, mission, and purpose.
