Choral Call to Worship

*Call to Worship
Dr. Zhenya Gurina Rodriguez
One: We come together to celebrate Jesus Christ,
who, though He was in the form of God,
did not consider being equal with God something to exploit.
All: Instead, he emptied himself,
Taking the form of a servant,
Being born in human likeness.
One: He humbled himself,
becoming obedient to the point of death,
even death on a cross.
All: So God raised him up with great honor,
and gave Him the name above all other names,
One: that at the name of Jesus  every knee should bend,
and every tongue confess
All: that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God. Thanks be to God!

*Hymn 127: “Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah”

*Affirmation of Faith 883
We are not alone, we live in God’s world.
We believe in God:
who has created and is creating,
who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh,
to reconcile and make new,
who works in us and others by the Spirit.
We trust in God.
We are called to be the church:
to celebrate God’s presence,
to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,
our judge and our hope.
In life, in death, in life beyond death,
God is with us.
We are not alone.
Thanks be to God. Amen.

*Gloria Patri 70
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13)
