Choral Call to Worship

*Call to Worship
Matt Britt, Associate Director of Youth Ministries
One: Today is a naming day, where we set aside time to say out loud the names of the young people in our church family, to lift them up to You Creator God who shaped them and called them good.
All: Today we celebrate them, but You have always known them.
One: From our earliest moments, You know us. From our first steps, You walk alongside us. From our childhood days through our awkward teenage years, we are reminded that we are seen and known and loved by You.
All: We are Yours O God, and we are filled with Your spirit, Your love and Your grace. Amen.

*Hymn 539: “O Spirit of the Living God”

of Christ that Chase Brittain, Hunter Morgan, and Vivienne Elizabeth, surrounded by steadfast love, may be established in the faith, and confirmed and strengthened in the way that leads to life eternal.

Faith Like a Child (11:00 am)
“Mister Mark” Burrows, Director of Children’s Ministries

Hymn: “Jesus Loves the Little Children”
Jesus loves the little children,
All the children of the world,
Every nation, every race,
All are held in his embrace,
Jesus loves the little children of the world.

Senior Recognition
Kat Bair, Direcor of Youth Ministries

Congregational Response
Leader: Through the sacrament of baptism you were initiated into Christ’s holy church by the steadfast love and grace of God.
Congregation: We were committed to pray for you and to nurture you in your journey of faith through our words and our deeds.
Leader: Through confirmation, you reaffirmed your faith, renewing the covenant declared at your baptism.
Congregation: We welcomed you into membership and were encouraged by your claiming of this tradition, and this community.
Leader: Through church membership, you have taken seriously the call to be a disciple of Christ and, through the Holy Spirit, have grown in grace, knowledge, and maturity.
Congregation: We encouraged you to question and challenge, we served alongside you, and we were inspired and transformed by your witness.
Leader: Through this recognition, we send you out, knowing that God goes with you wherever you go.
Congregation: We bless you and pray for you as your faith journey continues beyond this church. Always remember that this is your home and that in trials and triumphs, in mountains and valleys, in whatever the future holds, in this community you will always belong.

Sermon: “Holy Spirit”

Pastoral Prayer

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13)

*Invitation to Christian Discipleship

*Hymn 557: “Blest Be the Tie That Binds”

*Benediction
One: Our gathering will soon be ended. Where will we go, and what will we do?
All: We will go out to be God’s people in the world.
One: May grace, peace, hope, love, and joy forever accompany you. Amen.

*Congregational Benediction: “Let there Be Peace on Earth”
Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth, the peace that was meant to be.
With God our Creator, children all are we.
Let us walk with each other in perfect harmony.

Let peace begin with me, let this be the moment now,
With every step I take let this be my solemn vow:
To take each moment and live each moment in peace eternally.
Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me

*Postlude: “Now Thank We All Our God”
Sigrid Karg-Elert, composer
