9:30 am The Gathering Lyrics

“Oh Our Lord”

Oh, oh, oh, our Lord! Oh, oh, oh, our Lord!
How majestic is your name in all the earth

We behold the rising sun
The earth awakes, your hope has come
We look to you, we long for you, oh, Lord
We behold the breaking dawn
The light that shines over everyone

We look to you, we long for you, oh, Lord
Oh, oh, oh, our Lord! Oh, oh, oh, our lord!
How majestic is your name in all the earth

We behold the falling rain
Like waters rise, flood this place
We reach for you, we cling to you, oh, Lord

Oh, oh, oh, our Lord! Oh, oh, oh, our Lord!
How majestic is your name in all the earth

Oh, oh, oh, our Lord! Oh, oh, oh, our Lord!
How majestic is your name in all the earth

Oh, your name is a light in the darkness
Oh, your name is the word of truth
Oh, your name, oh, your name

Oh, your name is a light in the darkness
Oh, your name is the word of truth
Oh, your name, oh, your name

Oh, oh, oh, our Lord! Oh, oh, oh, our Lord!
How majestic is your name in all the earth

Oh, oh, oh, our Lord! Oh, oh, oh, our Lord!
How majestic is your name in all the earth

“Run to The Father”

I’ve carried a burden
For too long on my own
I wasn’t created
To bear it alone
I hear Your invitation
To let it all go
Yeah, I see it now
I’m laying it down
And I know that I need You

I run to the Father
I fall into grace
I’m done with the hiding
No reason to wait
My heart needs a surgeon
My soul needs a friend
So I’ll run to the Father
Again and again
And again and again
Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh

You saw my condition
Had a plan from the start
Your Son for redemption
The price for my heart
And I don’t have a context
For that kind of love
I don’t understand
I can’t comprehend
All I know is I need You

I run to the Father
I fall into grace
I’m done with the hiding
No reason to wait
My heart needs a surgeon
My soul needs a friend
So I’ll run to the Father
Again and again
And again and again

Oh-oh, oh-oh, again and again
And again and again
Oh-oh, oh-oh (oh-oh)

My heart has been in Your sights
Long before my first breath
Running into Your arms
Is running to life from death
And I feel this rush deep in my chest
Your mercy is calling out
Just as I am You pull me in
And I know I need You now

I run to the Father
I fall into grace
I’m done with the hiding
No reason to wait
My heart needs a surgeon
My soul needs a friend
So I’ll run to the Father
Again and again

I run to the Father
I fall into grace
I’m done with the hiding
No reason to wait
And my heart found a surgeon
My soul found a friend
So I’ll run to the Father
Again and again
And again and again

Oh-oh, oh-oh, again and again
And again and again
Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh
Again and again

“Good to Me”

I put all my hope
On the truth of Your promise
And I steady my heart
On the ground of Your goodness

When I’m bowed down with sorrow
I will lift up Your name
And the foxes in the vineyard
Will not steal my joy

Because You are good to me, good to me
You are good to me, good to me
You are good to me

And I lift my eyes
To the hills where my help is found
Your voice fills the night
Raise my head up and hear the sound

Though fires burn all around me
I will praise You, my God
And the foxes in the vineyard
Will not steal my joy

Because You are good to me, good to me
You are good to me, good to me
You are good to me

Because You are good to me, good to me
You are good to me, good to me
You are good to me

Your goodness and mercy shall follow me
All my life
I’ll trust in Your promise

And your goodness and mercy shall follow me
All my life
I’ll trust in Your promise

Your goodness and mercy shall follow me
All my life
I will trust in Your promise

Because You are good to me, good to me
You are good to me, good to me
You are good to me

You are good to me, good to me
You are good to me, good to me
You are good to me

You are good to me, good to me
You are good to me, good to me
You are good to me

Second in the series
Our Community of Faith
John 1 Selected Verses
Dr. Tim Bruster, Senior Pastor

Welcome
Rev. Lance Marshall, Co-Pastor

Prelude: “Take Me in your Lifeboat”
Crossroad Singers

*Call to Worship
Dr. Zhenya Gurina Rodriguez, Associate Pastor
One: Listen! For this is Good News!
All: God’s Grace is wider than our wildest imaginings.
One: God’s Grace embraces us as we are and where we are.
All: It draws us out to be the people we were created to be.
Thanks be to God! Amen.

*Hymn 73: “O Worship the King” (vv. 1, 2, 4)
O worship the King, all glorious above,
O gratefully sing God’s power and God’s love;
our Shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days,
pavilioned in splendor, and girded with praise.

O tell of God’s might, O sing of God’s grace,
whose robe is the light, whose canopy space,
whose chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form,
and dark is God’s path on the wings of the storm.

Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail,
in thee do we trust, nor find thee to fail;
thy mercies how tender, how firm to the end,
our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend.

*Affirmation of Faith 883
We are not alone, we live in God’s world.
We believe in God:
who has created and is creating,
who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh,
to reconcile and make new,
who works in us and others by the Spirit.
We trust in God.
We are called to be the church:
to celebrate God’s presence,
to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,
our judge and our hope.
In life, in death, in life beyond death,
God is with us.
We are not alone.
Thanks be to God. Amen.

*Gloria Patri 70
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

**Please be seated

Faith Like a Child
“Mister Mark” Burrows, Director of Children’s Ministries

*Hymn 378: “Amazing Grace” (vv. 1-4)
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
that saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
was blind, but now I see.

‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
and grace my fears relieved;
how precious did that grace appear
the hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils, and snares,
I have already come;
’tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
and grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,
his word my hope secures;
he will my shield and portion be,
as long as life endures.

Scripture: John 1 Selected Verses
God speaks to us through the reading of scripture.
Thanks be to God.

Sermon: “Our Theology of Grace”

Pastoral Prayer

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13)
