All Saints’ Day is the celebration of people of faith who have contributed to the creation of God’s kingdom.
These saints were not perfect, but were people who were trying to listen to God’s word and live God’s call.
This is the “communion of saints” — that fellowship of believers that reaches beyond time and place, even beyond death.

Welcome

*Call to Worship
One: For all the saints who have gone before us—those who walked in faith, who loved with courage, who showed us the way;
All: we are rooted in their faith, grounded in their witness, and anchored in their love.
One: Through hardship and joy, through doubt and devotion, they showed us what it means to follow Christ.
All: Their stories still shape us. Their example still inspires us. Their prayers still carry us.
One: Let us worship the One who was their refuge and is our strength, faithful across generations.
All: With grateful hearts, we worship — for all the saints, and with all the saints — rooted in faith, and growing in the light of Christ. Amen.

*Hymn 711: “For All The Saints” verses 1-4

*Affirmation of Faith 881
Rev. Brenda Brooks Alexander, Associate Pastor
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
  maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:
  who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
            born of the Virgin Mary,
            suffered under Pontius Pilate,
            was crucified, dead, and buried;
  the third day he rose from the dead;
  he ascended into heaven,
            and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
            from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
            the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints,
            the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,
            and the life everlasting. Amen.

*Gloria Patri 70
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13)
