The first commandments refer to God, as well as keeping a special day honoring parents, and now, in this last part of the commandments, it is about our neighbor and our behavior towards him.
Many people believe that honoring parents is a kind of compensation for all the years of changing diapers and paying for education. In reality, this commandment was given to the generation that wandered 40 years in the wilderness, where God automatically provided all the necessities.
With an open spirit, I will look for someone who needs my loving care today.
