Mission trip Commissioning
Rev. Lance Marshall, Senior Pastor
One: All who take upon themselves the name of Christ are called into ministries of love and service by the example of Christ. As these members of our community begin their work among the people of Fort Worth, Nashville, Tennessee, St. Louis, Missouri, Purdy, Missouri, Costa Rica, and Kenya, we pray the blessings of God and this community upon their endeavours.

All: We recognize you as ambassadors of this congregation in ministry with the people of Fort Worth, Nashville, Tennessee, St. Louis, Missouri, Purdy, Missouri, Costa Rica, and Kenya, and dedicate you to service in the name of Jesus Christ. Through our prayers we will be united with you in your work. May God richly bless your labors.

One: Let us affirm our belief in the responsibilities of Christian service.

All: We believe in God, Creator of the world; and in Jesus Christ, the Redeemer of creation. We believe in the Holy Spirit, through whom we acknowledge God’s gifts. We commit ourselves to the rights and dignity of all persons and to the improvement of the quality of life. We dedicate ourselves to peace throughout the world and to the rule of justice and law among all nations. We believe in the present and final triumph of God’s Word in human affairs, and gladly accept our commission to manifest the life of the gospel in the world.

*Hymn: “In Christ There Is No East or West”
1 In Christ there is no east or west,
in him no south or north,
but one community of love
throughout the whole wide earth.

2 In Christ shall true hearts ev’rywhere
their high communion find;
his service is the golden cord,
close binding humankind.

3 Join hands, disciples of the faith,
whate’er your race may be;
all children of the living God
are surely kin to me.

4 In Christ now meet both east and west,
in him meet south and north:
all loving hearts are one in him
throughout the whole wide earth.

Sacrament of Baptism
Robert Edwin Mason and Benjamin Thomas Mason,
Sons of Lisa and Thomas Mason

Baptismal Hymn 191: “Jesus Loves Me” (vs. 1)
Jesus loves me, this I know,
for the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to him belong;
they are weak, but he is strong.

Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.

Congregational Response
With God’s help we will so order our lives after the example of Christ that Robert Edwin and Benjamin Thomas, surrounded by steadfast love, may be established in the faith, and confirmed and strengthened in the way that leads to life eternal.

Faith Like a Child
Dr. Mike Marshall, Associate Pastor

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13)

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

*Benediction
One: Our gathering will soon be ended. Where will we go, and what will we do?
All: We will go out to be God’s people in the world.
One: May grace, peace, hope, love, and joy forever accompany you. Amen.

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
