The Gathering Lyrics
Leaning
Let my yes be yes
To you, oh, Lord
Let my no be no
To things of this world
If I rise or fall
If I stand at all
I am leaning on Your everlasting arms
What a fellowship
What a joy divine
What a priceless gift
God, I’m Yours and You are mine
Let my restless soul
Be still and know
I am leaning on Your everlasting arms
From the morning sun
And mercies new
To the evening stars
Every promise is true
As I walk this world
I’m helped by You
I am leaning on Your everlasting arms
What a fellowship
What a joy divine
What a priceless gift
God, I’m Yours and You are mine
Let my restless soul
Be still and know
I am leaning on Your everlasting arms
The more I’m leaning
The more I’m flying
Feels less like dying
More like living for Heaven on Earth
The more I’m leaning
The more I’m flying
Feels less like dying
More like living for Heaven on Earth
The more I’m leaning
The more I’m flying
Feels less like dying
More like living for Heaven on Earth
For Heaven on Earth
What a fellowship
What a joy divine
What a priceless gift
God, I’m Yours and You are mine
Let my restless soul
Be still and know
I am leaning on Your everlasting arms
I am leaning on Your everlasting arms
Holy Spirit
There’s nothing worth more, that will ever come close
No thing can compare, You’re our living hope
Your Presence
I’ve tasted and seen, of the sweetest of Loves
Where my heart becomes free, and my shame is undone
In Your Presence
Holy Spirit You are welcome here
Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere
Your Glory God is what our hearts long for
To be overcome by Your Presence Lord
I’ve tasted and seen, of the sweetest of Loves
Where my heart becomes free, and my shame is undone
In Your Presence
Holy Spirit You are welcome here
Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere
Your Glory God is what our hearts long for
To be overcome by Your Presence Lord
Let us become more aware of Your Presence
Let us experience the Glory of Your Goodness (2X)
Holy Spirit You are welcome here
Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere
Your Glory God is what our hearts long for
To be overcome by Your Presence Lord

*Call to Worship
Rev. Brenda Brooks Alexander, Associate Pastor
One: Behold your king comes to you;
All: he is just,
One: he brings salvation,
All: he brings peace.
One: Hosanna in the highest!
All: Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest! Amen.
*Hymn 278: “Hosanna, Loud Hosanna”
1. Hosanna, loud hosanna,
the little children sang;
through pillared court and temple
the lovely anthem rang.
To Jesus, who had blessed them
close folded to his breast,
the children sang their praises,
the simplest and the best.
2. From Olivet they followed
mid an exultant crowd,
the victor palm branch waving,
and chanting clear and loud.
The Lord of earth and heaven
rode on in lowly state,
nor scorned that little children
should on his bidding wait.
3. “Hosanna in the highest!”
that ancient song we sing,
for Christ is our Redeemer,
the Lord of heaven our King.
O may we ever praise him
with heart and life and voice,
and in his blissful presence
eternally rejoice!
*Affirmation of Faith 881
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
*Gloria Patri 70
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

Faith Like a Child – Third Grade Bible Presentation
“Mister Mark” Burrows, Director of Children’s Ministries
The Bible Black Belts Pledge
This is the Bible – the book of God’s love.
It is full of amazing stories of faith,
amazing people of faith,
and amazing deeds of faith.
The Bible may have been written long ago,
but it has great meaning in my life today!
Its words can inspire me,
comfort me, teach me,
and challenge me to be my best self –
a true servant of God.
The Bible is not a weapon.
I will not throw it at anyone.
I will not use its words to hurt others
just so I can feel better about myself.
This is the Bible – the book of God’s love.
*Hymn 277: “Tell Me the Stories of Jesus”
1. Tell me the stories of Jesus I love to hear;
things I would ask him to tell me if he were here:
scenes by the wayside, tales of the sea,
stories of Jesus, tell them to me.
2. First let me hear how the children stood round his knee,
and I shall fancy his blessing resting on me;
words full of kindness, deeds full of grace,
all in the lovelight of Jesus’ face.
3. Into the city I’d follow the children’s band,
waving a branch of the palm tree high in my hand;
one of his heralds, yes, I would sing
loudest hosannas, “Jesus is King!”

Pastoral Prayer
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13)
Offertory: “Hallelujah, Amen” (from Judas Maccabeus)
G.F. Handel, composer

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

One: Our gathering will soon be ended. Where will we go, and what will we do?
All: We will go out to be God’s people in the world.
One: May grace, peace, hope, love, and joy forever accompany you. Amen.
*Congregational Benediction: “Rejoice the Lord is King”
Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;
