*Call to Worship
Rev. Samuel Macias, Associate Pastor
One: We come, for God gathers us here, with that community called faith:
All: where the hungry are served first, where the thirsty drink life’s water.
One: We come, for God welcomes us here into that home called grace:
All: where the naked are clothed in robes of hope; where the stranger is embraced as the long-lost prodigal.
One: We come, for God reunites us here, sisters and brothers in that family called love:
All: where we worship together and praise God’s name. Amen.

*Hymn 715: “Rejoice, the Lord Is King”
1. Rejoice, the Lord is King!
Your Lord and King adore;
mortals, give thanks and sing,
and triumph evermore.
Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;
rejoice; again I say, rejoice.

2. Jesus the Savior reigns,
the God of truth and love;
when he had purged our stains,
he took his seat above.
Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;
rejoice; again I say, rejoice.

3. His kingdom cannot fail;
he rules o’er earth and heaven;
the keys of earth and hell
are to our Jesus given.
Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;
rejoice; again I say, rejoice.

4. Rejoice in glorious hope!
Jesus the Judge shall come,
and take his servants up
to their eternal home.
We soon shall hear the archangel’s voice;
the trump of God shall sound, rejoice!

*Affirmation of Faith 881
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

*Gloria Patri 70
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

**Please be seated

Psalter Reading: Psalm 25
Sung Response: O how He loves you and me! O how He loves you and me! He gave His life. What more could He give?
O how He loves you; O how He loves me; O how He loves you and me!
One: To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
All: O my God, in you I trust, let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exult over me,
One: let none that wait for you be put to shame;
All: let them be ashamed who are clothed with treachery.
One: Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
All: teach me your paths.
One: Lead me in your truth, and teach me,
All: for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.
Sung Response
One: Be mindful of your mercy, O Lord, and of your steadfast love, for they have been from of old.
All: Remember not the sins of my youth, or my transgressions; for the sake of your goodness, O Lord.
One: Good and upright is the Lord; therefore the Lord instructs sinners in the way, and leads the humble in what is right, and teaches them their way.
All: All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep the Lord’s covenant and testimonies.
Sung Response

Faith Like a Child

*Hymn 405: “Seek Ye First”
1. Seek ye first the kingdom of God
And His righteousness,
And all these things shall be added unto you.
Allelu, Alleluia!

2. Ask, and it shall be given unto you;
Seek, and you shall find.
Knock, and the door shall be opened unto you.
Allelu, Alleluia!

Pastoral Prayer

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13)

Offertory: “Follow the River”
Julie Wheeler, arranger

Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow. Praise God, all creatures here below; Praise God above, ye heavenly host.
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

*Benediction
One: Our gathering will soon be ended. Where will we go, and what will we do?
All: We will go out to be God’s people in the world.
One: May grace, peace, hope, love, and joy forever accompany you. Amen.
