Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
~Psalm 95:2
Thanks to you, FUMCFW is indeed making joyful noise – better described as inspirational music – on Sunday mornings!
Actually, we are blessed with outstanding music on several other days besides Sunday. As part of Lent special programming, FUMCFW Organist Peggy Graff and Andy Rose, another trained organist, recently performed a beautiful Lenten Organ Concert.
We are a church well known for our many outstanding ministries and programs and certainly at the top of that list is our Music and Worship Arts Ministry. Almost every Sunday during the 11:00 traditional service, members will enjoy the beautiful music of Choral Union under the direction of Thomas Williams accompanied by notable professional organist Peggy Graff on the beautiful Anne S. and Henry B. Paup Sanctuary Pipe Organ.
In addition to Choral Union, there are two additional contemporary music genres in the way of The Gathering Band at 9:30 or the eleven:eleven Revolution Band at 11:11 located at 512 W. 4th Street.
The love of worship music is a seed planted as early as 3 years old with our Pre-K music program. For many of our youngsters this love continues to be nurtured by the Children’s Choir which always brings smiles to the faces of our congregation. Our Youth Choir can be life-changing for our 6th through 12th grade members instilling in them a love for music that praises God and connects them to his everlasting love.
Other concerts of inspiring music similar to the recent organ concert are performed throughout the year by the Adoramus Choral Ensemble, Fifth Street Bells, Crossroad Singers or special guest performers.
Obvious by the way we “do church,” First Church members understand the significance of honoring and worshiping our loving God with song and musical instruments. Many of our church families attend here because they find comfort, peace and spiritual connection through the multifaceted music programs. Enthusiasm and love for Christ resonate every Sunday morning from the choir loft.
First Church’s Music and Worship Arts Program is made possible by your ongoing support of the 2023 Ministry Fund.
For your love of music and your generous spirit, I say a heartfelt thank you on behalf of our music and worship team!
Together in Christ,

Nancy Fisher
