Welcome our new Associate Pastor, Rev. Samuel Macias

By October 28, 2022

We are thrilled to welcome Rev. Samuel Macias as our newest Associate Pastor on November 1st. This will not be Sam’s first appointment in the great city of Fort Worth, TX. Many of you may remember Sam from his time as Pastor at La Trinidad UMC in Fort Worth from 2014 – 2019. Since 2019, Sam has served within the Eastern Annual Conference of Mexico and was most recently appointed to El Camino Iglesia Metodista in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

Sam is a second-generation pastor ordained in the Methodist Church of Mexico. Rev. Macias began his relationship with the United Methodist Church as a member of a covenant relationship between the Eastern Conference of Mexico and the Central Texas Conference. Joining him are his wife, Saby, and their daughters Sophia, Saby, and Samantha.

“I am so excited that Rev. Macias and his family will join us in ministry at FUMC,” said Senior Pastor Rev. Lance Marshall. “Samuel brings a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives to our ministry team, and I am excited to have him as one of the leaders in our congregation. God is doing great things with our pastoral staff, and I can’t wait to see what the future will hold.”

Sam’s responsibilities will include worship roles, officiating funerals and weddings, and pastoral care. There will be more information to come about Sam and his ministry here at First Church but, for now, please join us in welcoming Rev. Samuel Macias and pray traveling mercies for him and his family as they head back to North Texas!
