Kudos to our Kids Hope USA Mentoring program and its dedicated leader, Gay Ingram, who received some nice publicity this week on our denomination website, UMC.org in a wonderful feature article, “Mentoring changes lives on a two-way street” by Crystal Caviness.
Gay says that she got a call from Crystal who explained that she was doing an article on mentoring and heard we had a successful program. “I have no idea how she got my name,” Gay adds. “She called and emailed a number of times and was lovely at every turn.”
Gay says that despite the challenges of COVID-19, her Kids Hope team hope team plans to continue mentoring/tutoring the kids this year and hopes to add even more mentors. “As soon as the details are worked out, I will share the latest information with our First Church members.”
And so, this morning this sweet story went out to more than 60,000 United Methodists via UMC news!
