Foundation Commits $1.5 million to Next90

By August 21, 2020

Following a presentation to our FMC Foundation Board by Barry Hudson, Building Committee Chair, followed by a Question and Answer period with Barry, Senior Pastor Dr. Tim Bruster, and Co-Pastor Rev. Lance Marshall at the Board’s regular meeting yesterday, the FMC Foundation Board voted unanimously to contribute $1.5 million to our Next90 Phase I Building Expansion campaign. This contribution will be above and beyond its regular annual distribution to our church.

“I want to extend my sincere appreciation to Barry Hudson for his tireless work on this project and his well-developed presentations to our congregation, our church leadership, and to the Foundation Board, “ says Dr. Tim Bruster. “I also want to express my thanks to the Foundation Board for this unanimous decision that will help our church move forward in growth to meet the ministry and mission needs of our church for the next generation. I am grateful to all those faithful members of the church who have given generously throughout the 56-year history of the Foundation and the stewardship of those gifts by the members of the Foundation Board.  This commitment is further illustration of the tradition of our church to do great things in difficult times.”

“I am rejoicing with the Foundation Board for their decision to make such a strong commitment to our Next90 vision,” Rev Lance Marshall adds. “It’s an example of the abundant generosity and second-mile giving that is taking place throughout our congregation. Our church is digging deep and focusing on the future that God is calling us toward. I am so thankful to the Foundation Board and to all of our church families who are making bold commitments to provide the facilities needed for our next 90 years of ministry.”

“Thank you to the FMC Foundation Board for the additional $1.5 million commitment to the Phase 1 building expansion. I also want to thank the entire Building Committee for its ongoing work over the last several years in transforming the vision of the congregation into the NEXT90 master plan and phasing to implement the project. The Committee continues its work with reviewing options for improved HVAC system components to help protect and ensure the safety and health of the congregation as we move into our NEXT 90 years.”
