Opening Prayer

*Call to Worship
One: In a land of dust and stone, thirst becomes a question: “Is the Holy One among us or not?”
All: We bring our questions, our weariness, and the faith we can barely hold.
One: Before our trust is steady, water runs; before our remembering is complete, grace is already flowing.
All: The Steady Presence meets us in the asking and stays with us on the way.
One: Come, doubters and rememberers, the thirsty and the hopeful.
All: Together, let us worship the God who journeys with us.  Amen.

*Passing of the Peace

*Hymn 400: “Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing”

*Affirmation of Faith 881
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
  maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:
  who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
               born of the Virgin Mary,
               suffered under Pontius Pilate,
               was crucified, dead, and buried;
  the third day he rose from the dead;
  he ascended into heaven,
               and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
               from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
               the holy catholic◦ church, the communion of saints,
               the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,
               and the life everlasting. Amen.

*Gloria Patri 70
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

**Please be seated

Pastoral Prayer

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13)

*Sermon Litany

Offertory: “Ave Verum Corpus”
W.A. Mozart, composer
Choral Union

*Doxology 95
Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow.
Praise God, all creatures here below;
Praise God above, ye heavenly host.
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

*Benediction
One: Our gathering will soon be ended. Where will we go, and what will we do?
All: We will go out to be God’s people in the world.
One: May grace, peace, hope, love, and joy forever accompany you. Amen.

*Congregational Benediction: “Lead Me, Guide Me”
Lead me, guide me along the way;
For if You lead me, I cannot stray;
Lord, let me walk each day with Thee.
Lead me, O Lord, lead me.

*Postlude: “Toccata in Seven”
John Rutter, arranger
