Amitié Quartet
Based in Melbourne, Australia, the Amitié Quartet was formed in 2025 at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music as a part of its String Ensemble program. The ensemble consists of violinists Star Yi and Jody Middleton, violist Sarah Chiu, and cellist Rowan Parr.
The group has had the privilege of working closely with members of the MCM faculty and members of major Australian ensembles, such as the Australian Chamber Orchestra and Australian String Quartet.
Taking their name from the French word for “friendship”, Amitié Quartet brings a fluid, imaginative, and deeply collaborative spirit to their performances. With a special interest in French repertoire, they look forward to deepening their musical rapport and refining their ensemble sound together at the Mimir Chamber Music Festival.
