Welcome to Advent 2025!

This Advent, our worship series Unexpected invites us to prepare for Christ not by looking up, but by looking deeper. Like a geode, rough and unremarkable on the outside but hiding layers of unexpected beauty within, the story of Jesus, God-with-us, defies surface expectations. In a world shaped by power, success, and spectacle, this Jesus arrives in humility, vulnerability, and grace. This series invites us to open the hard shell of expectation and discover God’s reign unfolding in ways we didn’t and couldn’t imagine—in mangers, margins, and quiet acts of love. We are invited to slow down, look again, and find awe in the unexpected places. Christ, our King, is not what the world wants—but everything we need. The question is: will we recognize the beauty when we see it?

Registration Required

All FUMCFW students in 7th-12th grade are invited to join us for our annual Christmas Party in the Justin Youth Building! This year we’re going to deck the halls of the Justin in more tinsel than you could imagine, and we want to see your best Christmas sweaters (however you’d like to interpret that is up to you).

We’ll kick things off with yummy food, play some big games from the 1st Floor Stage, and wrap up with our annual White Elephant Gift Exchange!

Every year, we have an incredible assortment of gifts (we’ve seen everything from a large, framed painting of Jesus to a bag full of $10 in pennies) and we always encourage thinking outside the box – but please, nothing alive (i.e. no plants, no animals, etc.). Everyone who brings a gift will leave with a gift, and we’ll have some extras on hand in case you forget!

If you have any questions, reach out to Rebekah.

12.14 Service of Remembrance

Sunday, December 14, 2025
6:00 – 7:00 pm | Leonard Memorial Chapel
Led by Dr. Mike Marshall

At First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, we know all too well the difficulties the holiday season can bring during times of loss, fear, and sadness — and we want you to know you are not forgotten among the tinsel and celebration. Each year we schedule this special service intentionally during this time to create a space for feelings that are not so merry — and a refuge from celebration when you just don’t feel like it. Led by Dr. Mike Marshall, who will offer a brief word, lead a time of prayer, and celebrate those we love. This service, surrounded by the beauty of Leonard Memorial Chapel, offers balm to the weary soul — and solace to the discouraged and brokenhearted at a time when the rest of the world may seem oblivious to your pain.
