*Call to Worship
Rev. Brenda Brooks Alexander, Associate Pastor
One: Let us gather in the presence of God, who hears our every prayer—spoken or silent.
All: We bring words of joy and gratitude, and cries for help and healing.
One: God invites us to pray in many ways.
All: In whispered words and shouted praises, through dance and stillness, we offer our hearts.
One: Let us worship God, who meets us wherever we are and however we pray.
All: We come today just as we are to worship and pray. Amen.

*Passing of the Peace

*Hymn 715: “Rejoice, the Lord Is King”

*Affirmation of Faith 881
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
  maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:
  who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
                born of the Virgin Mary,
                suffered under Pontius Pilate,
                was crucified, dead, and buried;
  the third day he rose from the dead;
  he ascended into heaven,
                and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
                from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
                the holy catholic◦ church, the communion of saints,
                the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,
                and the life everlasting. Amen.

*Gloria Patri 70
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

**Please be seated

Pastoral Prayer

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13)

Offertory: “As the Deer”
Martin Nystrom, arranger
Choral Union
Thomas Williams, director

*Doxology 95
Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow.
Praise God, all creatures here below;
Praise God above, ye heavenly host.
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

*Benediction
One: Our gathering will soon be ended. Where will we go, and what will we do?
All: We will go out to be God’s people in the world.
One: May grace, peace, hope, love, and joy forever accompany you. Amen.

*Congregational Benediction: “Here I am Lord” refrain
Here I am, Lord.
Is it I Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go Lord,
if you lead me.
I will hold
your people in my heart.

*Postlude: Toccata on “Darwall’s 148th” (Rejoice, the Lord Is King)
Gordon Young, arranger
