Leveling the Playing Field – Dr. Marjorie Lewis

Dr. Lewis is Commissioner of the Global Pro Flag Football League, a league where men and women play separately but are treated equally. As a staff reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram she became the first ever female beat reporter to cover the Dallas Cowboys. And, she actually coached defense at Texas Wesleyan University when TWU brought back its football team. Her book, “When the Men Were Gone,” is based on a woman who coached football in a small Texas town during WWII and has been optioned by Hollywood to be made into a feature film. She will speak to UMW about how we will be able to enjoy the increasingly popular sports finals in 2026 that will be held in North Texas.
