It’s time for Youth Banquet! This fun-filled end-of-year celebration is the Youth Ministries’ opportunity to get dressed up, eat good food, and look back at an amazing year.
The event holds all kind of beloved traditions, like senior speeches, slideshows, scholarship announcements, and of course, the Justees.
The Justees, of course, are 12 awards given to youth every year in honor of fun memories made and notable accomplishments (such as eating 9 hot dogs in one sitting or having the best dance moves). The Justees are gold goat statues, for reasons that pre-date my tenure here, and which I doubt every really made sense.
The banquet is a delightful combination of sweet, sad, funny, and heartfelt, and is one of the highlights of the spring. Parents and youth are welcome, and I wouldn’t miss it. Come celebrate our seniors, and welcome in the summer (and a new friend that we’re going to spend it with) NEXT SUNDAY, May 6. RSVP here.
