I would like to personally invite you to attend our second Interfaith Symposium on Sunday, February 12. This is an opportunity for us to meet together and support one another within our faith traditions — and especially at this symposium — to learn more about how women have been understood and treated, common myths and misunderstandings in our faiths, the different roles that women have had and how those roles have changed and are changing, how lives and vocations have been and are being shaped by our faith traditions, personal life journeys, and other information related to women of faith. I look forward to seeing you at Beth-El on February 12.
Women in Faith: A Christian, Jewish, and Muslim Dialogue
Sunday, February 12, 2017
3:00 – 5:00 pm | Beth-El Congregation
4900 Briarhaven Road, Fort Worth, TX 76109
We have three excellent speakers leading this amazing interfaith symposium who will share their faith traditions and perspectives on “Women in Faith,” and it will be a wonderful opportunity for our faith communities and others to hear new perspectives and participate in dialogue. We are grateful to have Dr. Rebekah Miles from First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth and Professor of Ethics and Practical Theology at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University; Cantor Sheri Allen, the leader at Congregation Beth Shalom in Arlington and Chaplain for VITAS Healthcare in Fort Worth; and Saliha Malik, who currently serves as National President of the Ahmadi Women’s Association, an auxiliary of the Ahmadi Muslim Community, known as Lajna Imaillah. There will be a time for questions and answers, and refreshments and fellowship to follow. Please attend and encourage others to come. It is an opportunity for us to offer proactive leadership in this important area. We look forward to seeing you at this free symposium. No registration required.
