Ushers hand out bulletins, assist guests in finding seats, pass the notebooks and offering plates during worship, and provide other assistance as needed on Sunday mornings at 9:30 and 11:00 am in our traditional Sanctuary worship services, as well as DiscipleChurch, The Gathering, and eleven:eleven celebration.
Greeters welcome those entering our facilities with a warm, friendly smile and provide directions to our Welcome Center or other locations as needed on Sunday mornings.
Welcome Center Volunteers work with a designated staff member to offer vital assistance and provide a welcoming presence in our Welcome Center each Sunday morning. They serve from 9:00 – 9:30 am, 10:30 – 10:55 am, and 12:00 – 12:15 pm on their designated Sundays.
First Friends stand with our newest members when they join the church and welcome them to our congregation, get acquainted with them following the service, and then follow up to help them connect with the programs, activities, and ministries of greatest interest to them. First Friends arrange their schedules together based on availability.
Training is provided for all of these opportunities and service commitments range from once a month to each Sunday.
“Hospitality is the art of preparing space for others so they feel comfortable and welcomed — and THAT is what our hospitality volunteers do every Sunday. There is truly nothing they want more than for people to come back to our church because they felt comfortable and cared for. We’re always looking for people who love to be part of making sure everyone knows how happy we are that they are with us on Sundays.”
