Not too far northeast of where we stood today, the leaders of our church gathered at 4:00 pm on October 29, 1929 to break ground to build the beautiful building that has served our congregation for the past 91 years.
This past Sunday in a combined zoom webinar meeting and an in-person vote, the construction of Next90 Phase I was approved by a whopping 92.4% margin.
On Sunday, September 13, each and every member of our church — from our oldest members to our 2020 Confirmands — are invited to vote on our upcoming decision to move forward in our Next90 Building Expansion Project.
If you’ve been following the progression of our Next90 Building Expansion project lately, you may remember that we’ve recently been approved to take our next major step as a congregation — the vote to move forward into construction — via Zoom.
The FMC Foundation Board voted unanimously last night to contribute $1.5 million to our Next90 Phase I Building Expansion campaign. Huge thanks to the FMC Foundation Board, Building Committee, and our devoted FUMCFW members for helping us move into the next 90 years as a faithful and growing church community.
The next step for our Next90 Building expansion project is a churchwide vote to begin Phase I construction. With this past week’s unanimous vote by our Building Committee, this (virtual) Church Conference and vote is now set for September 13 at 1:00 pm.

As commitments continue to roll in, we’re so excited to be able to say that with cash in hand and 359 commitments received, we are now at $10.2 million, and more than two-thirds of the way to our goal!
Last week’s commitment Sunday brought our entire faith community to the long-awaited place of making our commitment to our Next90 Capital Campaign — and early indicators show solid participation that puts the goal line in sight!
