Journey of Dementia

Bring your lunch at 11:30 am — or dinner at 5:30 pm — and we’ll watch together this informative and entertaining DVD featuring international dementia care pioneer Teepa Snow. This session will help us to understand more about the journey of dementia for those who have it and those who love them. It is a way to begin equipping ourselves to provide support for those in our faith community facing the Journey of Dementia. Read more.

Nancy Fisher75A Culture of Generosity

Nancy Fisher reflects on a new job, a new role, and the emphasis on a culture we can all be proud of here at First Church. One of the things most exciting to me in my new role as Director of Stewardship here at FUMCFW is discovering the distinct differences between what I’m doing now for our church and some of the “fundraising” I’ve done in the past. kat-bair75Youth Ministries Mid-Summer Update!

Kat Bair

mark75VBS — More Grades are FULL

Mark Burrows

We wanted to give you up-to-date VBS info. Pre-K and Kindergarten are now FULL. The only grades with any space left (very little) are: 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th. We have a wait-list going for any grades that are full. And one area where we absolutely do not have a wait list – adult and youth volunteersRead more.

WHEN DEMENTIA COMES TO CALL

Linda Abel, RN

When dementia comes to call — on an individual and his or her surrounding family and friends, even those of those of us who care very deeply can feel helpless and confused, even afraid of saying or doing the wrong thing. Questions abound. What can we do to help? Read more.

Tom75Veni. Vidi. Vici. (Et Inducium Emi!)

Rev. Tom McDermott

I am still on the road, currently in Northern Michigan, speaking at a United Methodist Chatauqua. It’s been an amazing road trip thus far – as all road trips are destined to be, really! When we return, it will have been a 2600+ mile trip in our Mini Countryman. Curious moments. Close calls on the road. Read more.
