This past Sunday afternoon, I was blessed to be a part of the annual Christmas Cheer event. My group of singers went to a fantastic retirement community to sing carols and mingle with the tenants of the home. It’s been a while since I’ve participated in an event such as this. Not knowing what to expect, we sang with an enthusiastic approach and encouraged all that were there to sing as well. It was the BEST! EVERYONE participated and enjoyed creating an atmosphere of joy, caring, and a WARM feeling that created a SMILE on the faces of those listening. It truly reminded me of what we need to be focused on during these next few weeks. The anticipation of Christmas is important; however, living in the moment and taking advantage of bringing that warm feeling to those who need it most is also extremely important! I want to remind all that we have wonderful music coming our way this Sunday in the Sanctuary during our 9:30 and 11:00 am traditional worship services. Music presented by our Choral Union, Youth Choir, Children’s Choir, Bell Choir, and guest brass instrumentalists will be featured. And next Sunday, December 18, our Chamber Choir, Adoramus, will offer the featured music in both of our morning Sanctuary worship services. Adoramus will also present a “Lessons and Carols” concert on that same evening beginning at 7:00 pm in our Sanctuary. I hope you will make plans to attend. I know you will enjoy the music — perhaps it will bring a WARM FEELING AND A SMILE to you and yours.
See ya at church!
