Vulnerability and Connection

Staff_Delony, LenI was recently talking with some people at a “Circle of Trust” group at the church about how it is so hard, yet at times so important, to be open and vulnerable. As the conversation was ending, I learned of a TED Talk by Dr. Brene Brown, a professor at the school of Social Work in Houston. As I watched the video, I was especially surprised at how well her talk fits with the book we are reading by Parker Palmer entitled The Hidden Wholeness, and the “Circle of Trust” way we are trying to be present to one another in small groups. (I was also surprised at how well it fits with much of Charles Gaby’s work on Affect Psychology in Roots of Change groups, and that Gena Anderson had talked about Prof. Brown’s TED Talk during her sermon July 21, 2013.

It is a delight to discover the connections God is weaving throughout our church when we take time to be open and notice…

Here is a link to the TED Talk by Brene Brown. It’s an interesting and amusing presentation entitled “Vulnerability and Connection.”

I’d love to hear from you if you have any comments or questions…

Grace and peace to you all,
