VBS Thursday Update

Mark BurrowsDear VBS Parents,

Another day of VBS is in the books! Thank you to all the parents for your patience and understanding during a trying day. We are so thankful that we were able to host all of your children today at VBS despite the minor flooding on the first floor of the church. The calmness of all teachers, staff and parents helped to keep the daily VBS routine and the children had a great day.

The Hero Code for today was God’s Heroes have Hope! The bible story for today was Matthew 4:23-5:12. If you could, talk to your children about what they learned.

The color of the day for Friday is PURPLE! Your child is welcome to wear either their VBS shirt with some purple accessories or purple shirt or shorts.

Don’t forget our Super Sixers are selling “friendship collector cards” in the garden tomorrow before and after VBS. Our goal is to raise $300 per child covers tuition, uniforms and school supplies for one student for a year. The cards that are sold help your kids see the faces of the kids in Kenya that their dollars benefit.

Guess what…because of your generosity, we are able to send all of the 5 children from the original list AND we are working on sending additional children that need our help!!

Don’t forget…we still have our huge VBS Sunday Celebration. It starts with family-friendly worship in the Sanctuary at 11:00. The kids will sing all their favorite VBS songs. This is not just for church members, but for all of our VBS children. We will have more details on room assignments for Sunday in tomorrow’s email

Afterwards is a street party at Noon, complete with food, bounce houses, and all kinds of activities. The Mission Store will be open here also.

The street party is the first opportunity for children entering K-5th grade to register for Fall Academy classes. (This is a big deal for the kids.) Those of you who are here will get a two-hour window to register before we open it up to online registration at 2:00 pm.
