Week of November 5 — Unbounded Generosity is An Act of Christian Discipleship
Scripture: Philippians 2:1-11
Don’t do anything for selfish purposes, but with humility think of others as better than yourselves. Instead of each person watching out for their own good, watch out for what is better for others. Adopt the attitude that was in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 2:3-5)
As disciples, we are devoted followers of Jesus Christ, committed to practices that will foster this Christ-like attitude. Here at FUMCFW, we use the Healthy Plate Discipleship framework as a guide of practices which help us more faithfully follow Jesus Christ. GIVE is one of the six aspects. To practice and grow in the discipleship of giving, one must put God first in all things. The habit of sacrificial giving of our money and resources allows us to trust in deeper ways and to truly share our love with others.
Are you putting God first in all things? Do you practice sacrificial giving of your money and resources? How does your practice of giving compare to the other five disciple practices on your Healthy Plate?
Write a prayer of gratitude for the gift of your discipleship through Jesus Christ. Open your heart and mind to the practice of putting God first in all aspects of your life.
