There are so many things about this church that I’m extremely proud of and feel so blessed to be a part of — which is why I’m so excited that this Sunday is UMW Sunday at FUMCFW. Over the past few years, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to work with this amazing group of women — which is why it comes as no surprise to me that our chapter of this national organization is one of the strongest in the country.
This dynamic group of women is committed to the service and support of women, youth, and children in need within our community and church. They give countless hours of volunteer service to various organizations and financial support as well. Over the last several years, they have raised more than $150,000 in which all proceeds go directly back into the community to organizations such as FUMCFW Children’s Ministries, Kids Hope, Food 4 Kids, VBS at FUMCFW, Methodist Justice Ministry, TCU Wesley, Methodist Children’s Home, and United Community Centers, just to name a few.
However, UMW is also a community of women who have developed creative and supportive friendships. UMW is made up of many different groups, or “Circles.” No matter what your personality, age, or schedule is, there is a place for you in our UMW Circles. (Click here for descriptions of all the Circles and you’ll see what I mean!) I promise you, these lovely ladies will welcome you to the UMW Circle of your choice! In addition to the Circles which meet at a variety of times each month, all women are invited to the monthly UMW Luncheons & Programs in Wesley Hall, usually at 11:30 am on the first Tuesday of every month.
This Sunday means you’ll experience UMW hospitality in action, and have an opportunity to meet and visit with these wonderful women and learn more about the work they do and the fun they have doing it.
I look forward to seeing you there!
