Prelude: Prelude on “Shall We Gather at the River?”

*Call to Worship
Dr. Mike Marshall, Associate Pastor
One: Today, we unite in the presence of the Holy Spirit, who brings harmony to our lives and restores us.
All: With open hearts, we seek the Spirit’s direction, yearning for healing in our vulnerabilities.
One: Like Paul’s teachings in Thessalonica, let us embrace the call to redemption and transformation.
All: We recognize our longing for reconciliation with God and each other. Together, let us raise our voices in gratitude and praise for the Holy Spirit’s work within us. Amen!
*Hymn 166: “All Praise to Thee, for Thou, O King Divine”
1. All praise to thee, for thou, O King divine,
didst yield the glory that of right was thine,
that in our darkened hearts thy grace might shine:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
2. Thou cam’st to us, in lowliness of thought;
by thee the outcast and the poor were sought,
and by thy death was God’s salvation wrought:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
3. Let this mind be in us which was in thee,
who wast a servant, that we might be free,
humbling thyself to death on Calvary:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
4. Wherefore, by God’s eternal purpose, thou
art high exalted o’er all creatures now,
and given the name to which all knees shall bow:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
5. Let every tongue confess with one accord
in heaven and earth that Jesus Christ is Lord:
and God the Father be by all adored:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
*Affirmation of Faith 881
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic◦ church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
*Gloria Patri 70
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

Baptismal Hymn 191: “Jesus Loves Me” (vs. 1)
Jesus loves me, this I know,
for the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to him belong;
they are weak, but he is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.
Congregational Response
With God’s help we will so order our lives after the example of Christ that Stephen Carter, surrounded by steadfast love, may be established in the faith, and confirmed and strengthened in the way that leads to life eternal.

“Mister Mark” Burrows, Director of Children’s Ministries
*Hymn 172: “My Jesus, I Love Thee”
1. My Jesus, I love thee, I know thou art mine;
for thee all the follies of sin I resign.
My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art thou;
if ever I loved thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
2. I love thee because thou hast first loved me,
and purchased my pardon on Calvary’s tree;
I love thee for wearing the thorns on thy brow;
if ever I loved thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
3. In mansions of glory and endless delight,
I’ll ever adore thee in heaven so bright;
I’ll sing with the glittering crown on my brow;
if ever I loved thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

Pastoral Prayer
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13)
Offertory: “Fairest Lord Jesus”

*Doxology 95
Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow.
Praise God, all creatures here below;
Praise God above, ye heavenly host.
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
*Benediction
One: Our gathering will soon be ended. Where will we go, and what will we do?
All: We will go out to be God’s people in the world.
One: May grace, peace, hope, love, and joy forever accompany you. Amen.
*Congregational Benediction: “Sweet, Sweet Spirit” refrain
Sweet Holy Spirit, Sweet heavenly Dove,
Stay right here with us, filling us with Your love.
And for these blessings we lift our hearts in praise;
Without a doubt we’ll know that we have been revived,
When we shall leave this place.
