Thanks for Welcoming Me

Nancy FisherOnce again, I want to express my deepest thanks to all of you who have been so welcoming to me as I join the FUMCFW staff as Director of Stewardship. Your kindness has made my transition both easy and special. I have never had the luxury of starting a new job that made me feel as comfortable and included as I did on my first day here. There is still plenty for me to become acquainted with in terms of day-to-day operations, culture, and shared vision. However, the familiarity of who and what I already knew before walking in the door gives me the opportunity to get down to business so much quicker. I am ready!

I cannot think of a better time for me to become part of our staff. I know that some of you are scratching your heads and thinking, “Why is she doing this?” As I have mentioned on recent Sundays, I love this church. I love sitting in the pew and listening to Peggy Graff play our magnificent organ while Robert Stovall enthusiastically directs Choral Union. I love watching baby baptisms in which a beaming Dr. Bruster cradles and parades our newest member in front of the congregation. I love drinking lemonade in the courtyard with my church family during Connections between services. I love having so many choices when it comes to how I want to worship. I love that our church is a significant cornerstone in the Heart of the City!

Most of all, I love thinking about what the future holds for FUMCFW.

Over the next few months, I want to visit with as many of you as possible to learn what you love about First Church. I want to hear all about your stories and the dreams you have for our church. I want to know what you believe our legacy should be for future generations. Together, we will develop a plan that will turn our mutual dreams into an FUMCFW reality unlike anything we have yet to experience in the way of discipleship. I am ready and can’t wait for you to join me.

Wishing you many blessings,

Nancy Fisher
