Dear FUMCFW Friend,
Having enjoyed and celebrated many wonderful accomplishments in 2022 because of attitudes and actions of our members and friends, FUMCFW began 2023 well-positioned to continue building on our success. Our first quarter was filled with enthusiasm. Since January 1st,
• we have welcomed over 100 new members, including 61 sixth-grade confirmands;
• presented 64 Bibles to our 3rd graders;
• planned and presented a beautiful Easter season filled with sacred worship and inspiring music; and
• launched a new virtual presence through our very own church app, MY FUMC.
Your overflowing thoughtfulness and continued support of the 2023 Ministry Fund is paramount throughout the year. Thanks to you, we are transforming lives through beautiful worship, Bible studies, glorious music, mission trips, lively fellowship, children and youth celebrations, and service to others. Each of us, young or young at heart, are being inspired to carry out our God-given purpose of living in close relationship with Jesus Christ.
In November, the Finance Committee developed and presented to the Church Council for their approval, which they did, a $5,834,468 2023 Ministry Fund Budget with the goal of 75% of the amount being raised through member giving. Just as a reminder, the annual Ministry Fund Budget funds church operations in the way of salaries, worship, music, children, youth and adult ministries, communications, media, welcoming/hospitality, Congregational Care Ministry, service projects out in the community and more. In other words, the ministry fund makes it possible for us to “do church.”
