Why is it that in watching, or seeing, someone else’s experience of wonder and awe we are often moved to tears and delight ourselves? Does something connect within us? Something more universally true about our humanity?

This Sunday is the last Sunday before we enter the season of Lent. It is known as Transfiguration Sunday — the Sunday in which we remember the experience of Jesus and three of his disciples on a mountaintop in Galilee.
Anger, frustration, is an insidious fact of life. We’re wired for it, so that all it takes is a trigger and we’re off. And therein lies a conundrum.
When hope is elusive it is a comfort to know that Jesus is not oblivious to the fear and sorrow that can crowd out hope.
