Hand your child the piece of sea glass.
Note: I have gone through to make sure each piece is safe – no sharp edges. That said, I always appreciate an extra level of safety and quality control. If yours feels too sharp, set it aside and let us know. We’ll make sure you get a replacement piece.
Hold the sea glass.
The powerful sea takes pieces of broken glass and, over time, turns them into something beautiful.
No matter how much you mess up, no matter how many mistakes you make, God wants to hold you and mold you. The power of God’s amazing love can turn you into something truly beautiful.
Listen to this reading from 1 Peter, chapter five, verses 10-11 –
And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.
Now let’s sit in silence. Hold the sea glass in your hand and think of how God is holding you and molding you to be your best self.
[After a few moments of silence, pray]
We all make mistakes.
Thank you for forgiving us,
And making us beautiful
From the inside out.
[The sea glass can now go in the box.]
