FUMCFW created Christmas Cheer in 2014 as a way for the whole First Church family and friends to share our good tidings with others. This past Sunday, our 2016 Christmas Cheer offered up yet another wonderful day of this special Christmas outreach and fun. First, caroling groups traveled to local assisted living facilities to spread God’s love through song and fellowship. Then, everyone met back in Wesley Hall to celebrate the joy of Christmas together.
Mark Burrows, Director of Children’s Ministries, says his favorite parts of our annual Christmas Cheer event include “walking into a nursing center along with church friends representing multiple generations, singing and visiting with residents there, seeing how overwhelmed they were that ‘so many people’ came just to see them, and knowing that there were four other groups from our church doing the exact same thing throughout the city!”
Thank you to all of you who joined us for Christmas Cheer this year. As Mark puts it, “You touched the lives of so many people by simply being you!”
