Baptism is a covenant between an individual and God in which we are given our identity as beloved children of God. People of all ages can be baptized at FUMCFW. As parents present their infants for baptism we are all reminded of God’s loving welcome to children and our responsibility to help them mature in faith. We baptize by sprinkling water on the head in the name of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. By the laying on of hands by pastor and family of the one being baptized, we also invite the presence of the Spirit in the moment of baptism and the life to follow.
As two people begin to make plans to join their lives together and establish a home, our church and its staff rejoices with them — and is eager to help make their wedding both beautiful and meaningful. To help make your wedding a happy and holy service of worship that reflects both the religious values and meanings inherent in all worship, as well as the spirit and attitude of all who take part, guidelines and policies were developed to help with your planning.
A funeral, memorial service, or celebration of life (depending on the term you prefer) is a service of worship that acknowledges the grief of those gathered while proclaiming faith in the resurrection and life beyond earthly death. As you and your family begin the path of planning a funeral, we offer you our full support and experience to help make this difficult process simpler. If at any point you have additional questions or need more information to assist you in the process, please don’t hesitate to ask. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved ones as you move through your journey of grief.
