  • Are you looking for a way to dig deeper, be challenged, consider alternative perspectives?
  • Are you ready for a fresh look at things you think you already know about Christianity?
  • Have you had years of experience in Bible Studies and group discussions of biblical themes and are ready to delve into something more challenging and provocative?

Join us for Living the Questions, described as “an open-minded alternative to studies that attempt to give participants all the answers and instead strives to create an environment where participants can interact with one another in exploring what’s next for Christianity.”

Each week, two classes will be offered (options for Thursday or Sunday mornings) the Revs Tom and Linda McDermott will lead this new study and discussion opportunity which will begin with a 15-20 minute video presentation by acclaimed scholars, theologians, and other experts including the likes of Brian McLaren, Amy Jill Levine, James Forbes, Bishop Minerva Carcano, Walter Brueggeman, John Dominic Crossan, Diana Butler Bass and many more.  These clever, articulate, thought-provoking and even humorous introductions promise to spark some great discussion for our group.

“Having taught the first release of this study, I have been impressed by the depth of discussion it prompts, the “aha!” moments, and the breadth of consideration of thought,” Linda remarks. “Tom and I are excited to lead these two study offerings, and we encourage all who are looking for a thought-provoking study of the Bible to join this exciting new opportunity!”

Money . . . is it good or is it bad? How do we, as people of faith, create healthy relationships with money and possessions?

Join Dr. Zhenya Gurina-Rodriguez, Director of Stewardship Nancy Fisher, and several financial experts from different fields for this six-week study. Using the Saving Grace curriculum, we will address the topics of saving, earning, giving, spending and debt. Our conversations will explore helpful strategies for achieving a sustainable financial life.

No matter where you are on the financial continuum — in a financial crisis or in good financial shape or are already handling finances in a God-honoring way — Saving Grace will benefit the participant by providing a better understanding of how to live a life based on a God-honoring relationship with our money and “stuff.”
