I love living in Tarrant County because we are county of big hearts. I also love the annual North Texas Giving Day which will be happening Thursday, September 14th. I hope you will mark your calendar now to GET UP and GIVE!
North Texas Giving Day is an annual 18-hour online giving extravaganza for North Texas nonprofits sponsored by Communities Foundation of Texas. It is powered by creative nonprofits, social media activism, area-wide collaboration — and of course, you!
The goal of North Texas Giving Day is to help build awareness and support for nonprofits in our North Texas region. And, since 2009 through North Texas Giving Day, the Communities Foundation of Texas has pumped more than $156 million into more than 2,500 local nonprofits in the North Texas Community. In 2016, North Texas Giving Day raised $37 million through more than 142,000 gifts benefiting 2,518 nonprofits, making this online event one of the top Giving Days across the USA!
One of my favorite things about North Texas Giving Day what an effortless way is offers me to support my favorite charities. Two of those charities, of course, are even closer to my heart because they are part of our First Church faith community.
Please join me in transforming lives of those living in need in our community by including our First Street Methodist Mission and Methodist Justice Ministry in the charities you choose to give to on September 14th, beginning at 6:00 am.
Because North Texas Giving Day is an online giving event, to participate you must go to northtexasgivingday.org with your credit card in hand. I speak from experience that this is indeed a terrific and simple way to demonstrate your support for several organizations in less than 5 or 10 minutes, right from your computer or smart device.
And this year, recognizing that we all lead such busy lives and some people may not have 10 minutes to spare to give on the exact day, donors can, for the first time ever, schedule their gifts before North Texas Giving Day! Scheduled giving opens on September 7 at 8:00 am and goes through September 13 at midnight! And, if you don’t get your giving scheduled ahead of time, you can still be part of the traditional excitement from 6:00 am to midnight on the 14th.
Thanks in advance for your generous spirit that will change lives throughout our community.
