New Here?

Welcome to First United Methodist Church Fort Worth. No matter your background — whether this is your first time at church or you’ve been attending church your whole life — we’re glad you’re here!

Every Sunday, we come together to worship and celebrate the good news of the gospel that proclaims you are loved and accepted by Christ completely. We want First Church to be a place where no one walks alone so we want to make it super easy to take your first steps to get connected to others at FUMCFW.

Step 1

On Ramp

Sundays

If this is your first time with us, welcome — we’re glad you’re here! We want you to know church is so much more than a Sunday service — First Church is a place where you will never walk alone. We will be in the garden after the service — exit out the back of the Sanctuary, take a left and you will see the “On Ramp” sign in the garden. We have gifts for both children and adults as a token of our appreciation for you worshipping with us. We also invite you to stop by, grab a cup of coffee — we can’t wait to meet you!

Step 2

Healthy Plate Discipleship Breakfast

Sundays, October 10 & December 19, 2021
9:30 – 10:30 am | Room 350 | Registration required
In the same way a balanced diet keeps your body strong and healthy, our Healthy Plate model of Discipleship is built on the premise a balance of these six practices – worship, pray, serve, give, learn, play – feeds your soul and keeps you healthy spiritually.
Without a balanced “diet” of spiritual practices, it’s easy to fret about things more and trust God less. But, intentionally practicing these six habits will deepen your faith, make you more aware of God’s presence and help you prioritize the things that will bring you peace and joy. Join us for breakfast to discuss how you can start practicing Healthy Plate Discipleship to live your best life!

Step 3

Find your “Worship Plus One”

What does that mean? It simply means in addition to regular worship attendance, the easiest way to live into the Healthy Plate model of Discipleship is to find a “Plus One” — a group, a study or a place to serve where you will meet other people, build relationships and experience the power in leading a Christ-centered life. Here are some places for you to take that step and find your “Plus One.”

Transformation Experience

Wednesdays | September 15 – November 3
Or
November 10 – December 15
6:30 – 7:30 pm | Zoom
Led by Rev. Lance Marshall
Registration required

Join Rev. Lance Marshall for this 8-week opportunity to experience how faith in Christ can make a difference in day-to-day life. This eight-week journey includes some short video teachings, daily homework and a weekly Zoom meeting with Lance and fellow participants as together they learn to move from believing in Jesus to living in His love.

“I use the analogy of personal training, “ explains Lance. “When you go to the gym, and work with a trainer, they don’t explain why pushups are effective, they teach you how to do pushups! In the same way regular pushups strengthen your body, this experience develops daily practices that strengthen your faith and changes your life.”
