As we spin forward into the glorious weeks of summer, one of the best holidays during this time of year for many is, of course, FATHER’S DAY. It’s a day we choose to honor our fathers in a way that can be truly meaningful. Perhaps we celebrate the lives of our fathers who have passed on as well as our current fathers both young and old. Many choose to have family outings while others make special trips to see their dads. Then there’s those who simply like to give Good Ole Dad the day off. Perhaps giving him a round of golf, a relaxed day at the pool, or fishing are ways we acknowledge the appreciation and love we have for him. One thing is for sure — sometimes a simple “I love you, Dad” can go a long way in giving him that special feeling.
Just as we did with Mother’s Day, we offer an opportunity to celebrate the men in our lives by coming to church and being active in the special moments of our services. What a better way than to SING to our fathers?! Ladies, this is your call to join the Singing Women of First Church in rehearsal this Wednesday night from 8:00 – 9:00 pm for a performance of two delightful anthems on Sunday morning, June 18 — FATHER’S DAY! Please come join us as we sing two meaningful selections chosen especially for our dads. It will be just one of many ways you can show the love toward our fathers.
See you at church!
